Melina started out as a model, won a Miss California beauty contest and modeled athletic wear for Nike.
Even though her modeling future looked bright, after talking to Empire Wrestling Federation (EWF) superstar (and family friend) Mike Henderson in 2000, Melina decided to give pro wrestling a try.

WWE Diva: Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle Beckman-Ehrlich was born September 30, 1978 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Of course WWE fans know her better as Candice Michelle or simply Candice.
You can see her on WWE's Monday Night Raw.
Candice came to the WWE via the Raw Diva Search, where she didnt even make it into the top ten finalists. However, the WWE hired her anyway and put in storylines as a makeup artist.
She was moved from Raw to Smackdown were she got involved in the Torrie Wilson / Melina feud, and got her first time actually on the wrestling mat. Although it was as a ref at The Great American Bash.
Candice went back to Raw with Torrie and they both became heels. Along with Victoria they formed the Ladies in Pink, which later became Vince's Devils.
Her background as a model and actress didn't do her a lot of good in the WWE ring where she was used pretty much as eye candy. But Candice did begin working on her in ring skills. She turned face and defeated then Champion Melina at Vengeance becoming the first Diva Search particapant to win a WWE belt.
Although she seems to really try to improve her wrestling game, Candice has suffered a few injures along the way.
Victoria kicked her in the face breaking her nose on Raw during a Diva battle royal, Beth Phoenix cracked her clavicle during her rematch for the Women's Title and in a tag team match with Maria against Victoria and Jillian Hall, she broke her clavicle in four separate places, shattering it.
But Candice keeps coming back.
