WWE: Kane, part 2

In October 1997, Jacobs was repackaged as Kane, the half-brother of The Undertaker. He re-debuted in the WWF at Bad Blood 1997 on October 5, 1997, costing The Undertaker his Hell in a Cell match with then WWF European Champion Shawn Michaels. Kane and The Undertaker feuded with one another over the following year, during which time their history vis-à-vis one another was expounded upon.

Jacobs first wrestled as the Kane character in a squash match against Ahmed Johnson on the November 3, 1997 episode of RAW. The Undertaker initially refused to fight him, saying he would not fight his own "flesh and blood" for show. After a brief partnership, Kane betrayed his brother by interfering in The Undertaker's WWF Championship title match with Shawn Michaels at the 1998 Royal Rumble, costing him the title once again. After the match, Kane locked The Undertaker in a casket and set it on fire. This provoked The Undertaker into returning to defeat Kane at WrestleMania XIV on March 29, 1998. They continued to feud until Unforgiven 1998 on April 26, 1998, when The Undertaker defeated Kane in an inferno match with help from Vader.

On May 19, 1998, Kane was revealed to be the result of a furtive union between The Undertaker's mother and Paul Bearer, an employee at the funeral home in Death Valley owned by The Undertaker's parents. When Kane and The Undertaker were children, The Undertaker "accidentally" burned down the funeral home, killing their parents and hideously scarring Kane both physically and mentally (the parents of The Undertaker are supposedly buried somewhere on Long Island; during an episode of RAW taped on Long Island, Kane and Bearer ostensibly exhumed their bodies and brought them to the arena). Bearer, who survived the fire, hid Kane in a mental asylum as he grew up and went on to form an alliance with The Undertaker (the details of "Kane's" early life were recounted in the book Journey into Darkness). After suffering mistreatment at the hands of The Undertaker, Bearer opted to bring Kane in to the WWF in order to gain vengeance upon The Undertaker.

The Kane character is portrayed as being psychologically unstable: depressed, schizophrenic, extremely violent and quick to anger. Like his half-brother, Kane is supposedly able to summon fire and bolts of lightning at will (although this particular talent has been alternately emphasised or de-emphasised depending upon the creative direction of the WWF at the time).

After defeating The Undertaker to win a WWF Championship title shot, Kane won the WWF Championship at the 1998 King of the Ring, defeating Steve Austin in a First Blood match. If Kane had lost, the match stipulations required that he set himself on fire. Kane lost the title back to Austin the next night on RAW. He went on to form a tag team with Mankind, with whom he won the WWF Tag Team Championship. After losing the titles and turning on Mankind, Kane formed a short lived tag team with his brother. The brothers fought one another for the vacant WWF Championship at Judgment Day 1998, with the match ending in a no-contest. Kane went on to take part in the "Deadly Games" tournament for the WWF Championship at the 1998 Survivor Series but was eliminated by The Undertaker in the quarter-finals.

Glen Thomas Jacobs (born April 26, 1967) is an American professional wrestler, better known by the ring name, Kane. He is currently performing on the SmackDown! brand of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Jacobs attended Quincy College, where he played basketball, before joining Northeast Missouri State University on a basketball scholarship. In the 1988-1989 season he was an NCAA all-star and is still listed in the Truman State University media guide (as Glenn Jacobs) as holding the record for highest field goal percentage for a single season (.621 in both the 1987-88 and 1988-89 seasons) and is the career leader in field goal percentage (.567). Jacobs also led the 1988-89 team in several categories, including blocked shots (1.0 per game) and rebounds per game (6.8 per game)

However, despite his success, Jacobs opted to switch to playing on the college football team. He eventually graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and then did some junior high substitute teaching in the St. Louis area. "After doing that, teachers have my respect; that's a pretty tough profession... So if I wasn't [wrestling], I don't think I'd be teaching."

Jacobs has portrayed several characters throughout his career since his professional wrestling debut in 1992. He was first known as Angus King when he debuted in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Jacobs later moved south and began wrestling as Unabomb, appearing in the United States Wrestling Association, Smoky Mountain Wrestling (where held the SMW Tag Team Championship with Al Snow) and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He also competed in the Japanese shoot style promotion Pro Wrestling Fujiwara Gumi.

Jacobs is believed to have debuted in the World Wrestling Federation as the masked Black Knight at the 1993 Survivor Series, though the Black Knight has also been said to have been Jeff Gaylord. He later appeared as the evil dentist of Jerry Lawler, Isaac Yankem, DDS, in 1995 after Bret Hart damaged Lawler's teeth by forcing his foot into his mouth, and as Diesel in 1996, replacing the original wrestler to have portrayed the Diesel character, Kevin Nash.

Gregory Helms, Part 4

Helms went on to feud with Jimmy Wang Yang over the Cruiserweight Title, defeating him to retain the title at Armageddon 2006. He has held the Cruiserweight Title Belt for a record of over 365 days now, more than doubling the former record set by Tajiri who held the WCW (then carried over into WWF) Cruiserweight Title for 162 days during and after the Invasion Angle.

On January 29, 2007, Helms became the first person to hold the Cruiserweight Championship for one full calendar year. The last male wrestler to have held a WWE title for a full year was Gillberg who held their now defunct WWF Light Heavyweight Championship from November 17, 1998-February 8, 2000.

Following Armageddon and into 2007, Helms would begin a short-lived feud with The Boogeyman before once again feuding with the entire Cruiserweight division on Smackdown. During this feud with the Cruiserweights at No Way Out, Helms' reign as Cruiserweight Champion finally came to an end when he was unable to win a Cruiserweight open invitational which saw Chavo Guerrero walk out champion.

In The Squid and the Whale, a poster of The Hurricane is seen, even though the film is set in the 1980s (IMDB).
Gregory Helms has had a different gimmick in each of his 3 Cruiserweight Championship reigns.
Helms is a comic book fan, one of his favorites is The Green Lantern. He has a tattoo on his biceps which is the Lantern's logo and his original WWE character The Hurricane was inspired by The Green Lantern.
The Hurricane character was an idea of Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Helms performed as the stunt double of actor David Arquette in the movie Ready to Rumble.
Helms is the only wrestler to have held both WWE and WCW Hardcore & Cruiserweight Titles .
Helms has his navel pierced which he removes while wrestling.
Helms was not only the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion in history, but also was and still is the longest champion in SmackDown! history.

Gregory Helms, Part 3

At the 2006 Royal Rumble, Helms would win SmackDown!'s WWE Cruiserweight Championship (even though he was, at the time, a superstar on RAW ) in an Open Invitational to all former Cruiserweight Champions. The participants were Helms, the reigning champion Kid Kash, Funaki, Paul London, Jamie Noble, and Nunzio. Helms won after hitting the Shining Wizard on Funaki.

He would make his return to the SmackDown! brand in February 2006, to start a feud with Nunzio, Kid Kash and the other cruiserweights. During this time, Helms defeated Nunzio in a one-on-one match. The week afterwards, he was supposed to defend against Kid Kash but Kash was away on a family emergency so Scotty 2 Hotty took his place. Helms defeated Scotty 2 Hotty and cut a promo about being better than all of the cruiserweights. At this point all the cruiserweights at the show (who were in contention for the belt) invaded the ring and beat down Helms using all of their signature moves. It was later announced by SmackDown! General Manager, Theodore Long, at No Way Out, Helms would be set to face all these cruiserweights in a match for the title. Helms was able to retain the championship. Later, Long mandated that Helms has to defend his title against a cruiserweight each week on SmackDown! to prove that he is better than all the cruiserweights. Helm's first defense under this new rule was against Psicosis of the Mexicools; Helms once again retained with help from the ropes.

On the March 10, 2006 edition of SmackDown!, Teddy Long told Helms that he didn't have to defend his title due to the fact that he had a broken nose (Which he suffered during a Smackdown! trip to Brisbane, Australia). Instead, Long put Helms in a champion vs. champion match against United States Champion Chris Benoit. During the match, Helms narrowly escaped a Sharpshooter and left the ring. However, his escape was blocked by four other cruiserweights - Kid Kash, Jamie Noble, Paul London, and Brian Kendrick - who grabbed Helms and threw him back into the ring, where Benoit locked in the crossface for the win.

Helms went on to undergo successful surgery on his nose was expected to miss five to six weeks. During this time SmackDown! announcers would state that Helms had a no-compete clause in his contract allowing him to waive the 30 day title defense rule due to any injury. Helms returned to the ring during the April 28, 2006 edition of SmackDown!, teaming with MNM to face Paul London, Brian Kendrick and Super Crazy in a six-man tag team competition. Helms continued on with defending his belt during PPV's but made more regular appearances on SmackDown!'s sister show, WWE Velocity.

Helms would continue on defending his title against other cruiserweights while on occasion facing off against SmackDown!'s other title holders in champion vs. champion matches. Helms would face then World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio on June 16, 2006 and then United States Champion Bobby Lashley on July 7, 2006, losing both matches. During this time, Helms also faced off against The Undertaker; in a losing effort. Eventually, Helms became the longest cruiserweight champion in WWE history, as well as the longest reigning champion in SmackDown history and for much of late 2006 would feud with Matt Hardy who Helms exchanged victories with in several matches on SmackDown! and on PPV. The feud would also see the two rivals join opposing Survivor Series teams at that years event, where Helms was a part of Team Rated-RKO and Hardy in Team DX.

Gregory Helms, Part 2

During 2002, The Hurricane would win the WWE Hardcore Championship at WrestleMania X8. It was there when Molly turned on Hurricane (clocking him in the back of the head with a frying pan), and winning the Hardcore Title from him. After that, they went their separate ways.

Helms would later be drafted to SmackDown! following the brand extension, winning the Cruiserweight Title from Taijri and Kidman in a triple threat match. Later in 2002, he was traded to RAW and would win the World Tag Team Titles with Kane, and hold them for around a month.

In 2003, Hurricane was involved in a feud with The Rock. The two would engage in backstage segments, with The Rock referring to The Hurricane as "The Hamburglar" (in part because his mask is similar to the Hamburglar's). This comic feud culminated in a match on RAW, in which The Rock clearly dominated; however, The Hurricane won with help from Steve Austin. Later on, Hurricane "discovered" Rosey's potential as a superhero, and christened him "Rosey, the Super Hero in Training" (or the S.H.I.T.). On the July 19, 2004 episode of RAW, Rosey appeared with a new costume, seemingly graduated to a full superhero and teaming with his mentor.

On May 1, 2005, at Backlash, Hurricane and Rosey defeated La Resistance in the finals of a Tag Team Turmoil match to win the World Tag Team Championship.

Not long after winning the titles, Stacy Keibler joined Rosey and The Hurricane as their sidekick, Super Stacy, but in August 2005, Rosey and The Hurricane lost Keibler as their sidekick when she and Christy Hemme were traded to SmackDown!

On September 5, 2005 Hurricane and Rosey were defeated by Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, during their debut match on RAW. Though this was a non-title match, the pair earned themselves a title match at Unforgiven. During the title match, Murdoch delivered an elevated DDT on The Hurricane to the outside. The DDT caused Hurricane to suffer a "stinger" (in kayfabe) and allowed Cade & Murdoch to beat the injured Hurricane later in the match to win the World Tag Team Titles.

The loss of the titles would be the beginning of the end of the team as during the next few weeks the pair would begin a losing streak, mainly caused by Hurricane's kayfabe injuries. During the October 17, 2005 episode of RAW, The Hurricane was assaulted by Kurt Angle at the request of Vince McMahon. After the beating, footage was shown of Hurricane ripping off his mask and striking Rosey because he did not help him fend off Angle. The next week, The Hurricane no showed a World Tag Team Title match leaving Rosey to face the champions alone.

During the match, The Hurricane (out of costume) appeared at the top of the entrance ramp; reverting back to his real name, Gregory Helms he watched as Rosey was double teamed and defeated. After the match, Helms announced that he was fed up of being funny for the crowd, and that he was sick of carrying Rosey as a tag team partner.

On the November 7, 2005 edition of RAW, Helms and Rosey finally faced off in singles action. This was Rosey's last match in WWE. Helms won the match after hitting the Shining Wizard. From here Helms wrestled mostly on Raw's sister show, WWE Heat. On WWE.com's Unlimited, Helms talked about his frustrations with not only not being on RAW in recent weeks, but also regarding Jerry "The King" Lawler making comments about him on the December 26, 2005 edition of RAW. During RAW on January 2, 2006, Helms confronted Lawler face to face about the comments, to which Lawler responded that when Helms was The Hurricane he was at least half-entertaining, but now he was just a guy that sucked. Helms responded by slapping Lawler, who responded back in kind by punching Helms and sending him out of the ring. This confrontation led to Lawler defeating Helms in a match at New Year's Revolution.

Debut July 6, 1991

Gregory Shane Helms (born July 12, 1974) is an American professional wrestler, performing for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on its SmackDown! brand. During his last title reign he became the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion in history and the longest reigning champion of any kind in Smackdown! history.

After wrestling in many independent promotions, including the Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts (OMEGA) promotion founded by Matt and Jeff Hardy, Helms and his friend Shannon Moore signed with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 2000.

In WCW, Helms' first break came as a member of the heel team 3 Count with Moore and Evan Karagias. The trio was a parody of the popular boy bands of the time and their gimmick involved making music videos and performing before their matches, during which their opponents tended to attack them before the match started. Helms later split from the group, and was dubbed "Sugar" Shane Helms by the fans, and found success as WCW Cruiserweight Champion. He was the reigning Cruiserweight Champion immediately before WCW was bought out by the then World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Helms' contract with WCW was one of twenty-five that were included in WWF's purchase of WCW.

Helms, after a name change from Shane to his first name of Gregory due to stem confusion that WWF staff thought would be caused from having him and Shane McMahon as active members in the organization, was brought in as a part of the Invasion storyline as member of The Alliance. Along the way, he had another name change to Hurricane Helms, but found little success until he began using The Hurricane character.

Helms' superhero character was loosely based on The Green Lantern; he sports a tattoo of the hero's logo on his right biceps. His real-life fixation of the character was parlayed into The Hurricane gimmick, and Helms gradually evolved into a full superhero character to the point of wearing a costume to the ring. During his time in the locker room he would dress as a 1950s reporter with glasses, using his real name, as a homage to Clark Kent (Superman), right down to the similarity in the name of the newspaper he reported for, the Daily Globe (Daily Planet).

Originally a heel (via his membership in The Alliance), Helms believed himself to have superhuman powers. He would, for example, wrestle heavyweights and attempt to chokeslam them, but given his comparatively small size, comically couldn't even pick the other wrestlers up. As "The Hurricane", Helms would defeat Matt Hardy for the WWF European Championship on August 21, 2001. He would eventually lose the title to Bradshaw a couple of months later. He later picked up a sidekick, as the former Molly Holly would soon become "Mighty Molly", and the two would come to the ring in a custom "Hurri-Cycle" (with Molly in the sidecar). Over time, his character increasingly received positive fan reaction. Helms became a face and was able to chokeslam some of his opponents, often acting surprised at his own strength. Royal Rumble 2002 was one of the Hurricane's more memorable moments of "superhuman strength", as he stormed the ring during the Royal Rumble match and attempted (and failed) to double chokeslam that year's megastars Triple H and Steve Austin.

Matt Hardy

Ring name(s) Matt Hardy,High Voltage,Surge,The Angelic Diablo,Matt Hardy, Version 1.0
Billed height 6 ft 1 in (185 cm)
Billed weight 236 lb (103 kg)
Born September 23, 1974 ,Cameron, North Carolina
Trained by Dory Funk, Jr.
Debut October 15, 1993

Matthew (Matt) Moore Hardy (born September 23, 1974) is an American professional wrestler, currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on its SmackDown! brand and makes special appearences on the RAW brand and their house shows teaming with his brother Jeff Hardy. He is most noted for being a member of the Hardy Boyz tag team as part of Team Xtreme.

Before his WWF debut with his brother Jeff, Matt was trained by former wrestler Dory Funk, Jr. Before signing with the WWF, Matt and Jeff ran their own wrestling promotion, OMEGA Wrestling, in which Matt competed under the name High Voltage. However, he had to change his name to Surge after a WCW tag team began to use that name. This happened shortly after Matt Hardy sent in a tape for the WCW Amateur Challenge with himself as High Voltage. A few years later, it was revealed to him by Chris Kanyon that the tape had been kept in the WCW Power Plant, watched multiple times and had the name High Voltage stolen from it [citation needed].

[edit] World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (1998-2005)
It wasn't until 1998 that the brothers were given a full-time WWF contract. The Hardy Boyz used a cruiserweight, fast-paced high flying style in their matches, often leaping from great heights to do damage to their opponents (and themselves in the process). Although Jeff was better known for his extreme moves, Matt was a prodigious high-flier himself. In 1999, the duo feuded with Edge and Christian and spent a short time in the stable The New Brood. After breaking away from Gangrel, Matt and Jeff were briefly managed by Terri Runnels. Subsequently, their Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches with Edge, Christian, and the Dudley Boyz made them extremely popular and propelled them to five reigns as the WWF Tag Team Champions.

In 2001, after Jeff Hardy's Intercontinental Championship run, Matt Hardy was given a singles championship push. Matt Hardy was given the European Championship on SmackDown! two weeks before Backlash 2001. Throughout the year, the Hardyz would continue as a tag team, winning the WWF Tag Titles once again and the WCW Tag Titles during the The Invasion. By the end of the year, the Hardy Boyz were having trouble getting along (kayfabe)

His grandfather Gory Guerrero was one of the most famous wrestlers in Mexican history. His father, Chavo Guerrero, Sr., was also a legendary wrestler in Mexico, and worked in WWE as a part-time wrestler and full-time manager. One of his uncles, Eddie Guerrero, was one of WWE's biggest stars. Eddie performed for the SmackDown! brand, as did Chavo Sr. (aka Chavo Classic). Chavo Jr. has two other uncles (Mando and Hector) who have had successful careers in the business.

WWE Smackdown : Dave Finlay, Part 2

Finlay began work on a comeback in 2004, even wrestling in a match against Jamie Noble at a show in Glasgow, Scotland, and promos began airing for his impending in-ring return in December 2005. His gimmick is that of a proud native Irishman who loves to fight. His first televised WWE match was on the January 20, 2006 airing of SmackDown! against Matt Hardy, which ended in a disqualification loss for Finlay. After the match, Finlay dragged Hardy to the steel ring steps and smashed Hardy's face into them with his boot, quickly establishing himself as a heel. This helped to give him the nickname, "The Fighting Irish Bastard".

Finlay continued to establish himself on the SmackDown! roster. During February and March of 2006, Finlay was involved in an intense feud with Bobby Lashley which began when Finlay cost Lashley his unbeaten streak by interfering in Lashley's match with JBL at No Way Out. This feud would see the pair brawl on many occasions, including a parking lot segment in which Lashley tried to overturn a car onto Finlay. Later, the pair competed in a Money in the Bank qualifier Lumberjack Match that Finlay won. During this time, Finlay began to wield a shillelagh as a weapon.

On April 2, 2006 Finlay competed in his first WrestleMania, WrestleMania 22. He faced five other WWE Superstars, from both the WWE RAW and SmackDown! brands in a Money in the Bank ladder match. This match was eventually won by then-RAW' superstar and current ECW extremist Rob Van Dam.

Finlay next entered into the King of the Ring tournament on Smackdown!, defeating his first round opponent Chris Benoit before being beaten by his rival Lashley, who advanced to the finals at WWE Judgment Day 2006. Finlay helped the other finalist, Booker T, to defeat Lashley in the final.

Beginning on the May 26 episode of SmackDown!, Finlay was joined by The Little Bastard character who came out from under the ring to attack Finlay's opponents. The Little Bastard continued to attack Finlay's opponents with or without Finlay's permission for several weeks. Finlay joined forces with William Regal as loyal subjects of the newly renamed King Booker and his Court. Both men were later "knighted" by the King, and Finlay used the name Sir Finlay.

Finlay as the U.S. ChampionDuring his time as part of the court, Finlay picked up a win against World Champion Rey Mysterio in a non-title match before defeating the court's main foe Bobby Lashley to take Lashley's WWE United States Championship. Finlay defended the championship on several occasions, often with help from Little Bastard, and even defended it against fellow court member William Regal at The Great American Bash before losing the title to Mr. Kennedy on the September 1, 2006 edition of SmackDown! in a triple threat match that also involved Bobby Lashley.

After the title loss, Finlay continued to attack and wrestle threats to court leader King Booker and his newly won World Heavyweight Championship; including Lashley and Batista. However, during this time Finlay was placed in several matches with the King; defeating King Booker in a non-title singles match and losing in a four way match at No Mercy 2006 for the title. After leaving the court Finlay continued to feud with Batista. On the November 10, 2006 edition of SmackDown he returned to fight Batista in a singles match which he lost after Batista pinned him after a Spinebuster.

On December 13, 2006, Finlay legitimately punched Josh Matthews in the mouth during the Armageddon 2006 press conference, drawing blood. At Armageddon, Finlay and King Booker faced Batista and his partner, the WWE Champion John Cena from RAW, but were defeated.

At Royal Rumble 2007, Finlay participated in his first Royal Rumble match. He drew number 2 and started out against the number one entry, Ric Flair. He lasted 32:31, eliminated 12th by Shawn Michaels. Shortly after the Royal Rumble, Finlay began a feud with The Boogeyman.

At WWE No Way Out he competed in a tag-team match with Little Bastard going against The Boogeyman and The Little Boogeyman. The match was won by Finlay and Little Bastard. In The February 23, 2007 Edition of Smackdown!, Finlay and Little Bastard won a No Way Out rematch against Boogeyman and Little Boogeyman.

On a recent episode of Smackdown Finlay won a money in the bank qualifing match against Chris Benoit and MVP.

WWE Smackdown : Dave Finlay, Part 1

Ring name(s) Belfast Bruiser,Dave Finlay,Fit Finlay,Finlay,Sir Finlay
Billed height 188 cm (6 ft 2 in)
Billed weight 107 kg (235 lb)
Born October 20, 1958,Belfast
Trained by Ted Betley
Debut October 1978

David Edward "Dave" Finlay (born October 20, 1958) is a British / Irish professional wrestler and road agent currently wrestling on the SmackDown! brand of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) under the ring name Finlay.

Finlay began his wrestling career in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, being trained by his father (also a professional wrestler), before moving over to Britain in 1978. While in England, Finlay wrestled for various companies under the Joint Promotions banner, with his then manager and wife Paula Finlay by his side. Finlay defeated Alan Kilby on June 9, 1982 to win his first title, the Joint Promotions British Heavy Middleweight title. The belt was traded back and forth with various opponents over the rest of the year, but in early 1983, Finlay lost it for the last time. He then won a tournament to crown a new British Light Heavyweight champion, a vacant belt at the time, defeating British Legend Ringo Rigby in the finals.

Finlay soon lost that belt, but gained another, beating Marty Jones to win the "World Mid-Heavyweight title" (although said belt never left Great Britain) which he traded back and forth with Jones for over two years losing it a final time to Jones via disqualification. Later, Finlay once again defeated Marty Jones en route to winning Joint Promotions' British Light Heavyweight title. Through 1983 and into 1984, Finlay was always fighting for a title or defending a title. He achieved notoriety by winning a major British title; All-Star's British Heavyweight Championship. Finlay often competed on ITV's World of Sport programme as David "Fit" Finlay.

During this time, Finlay also began to wrestle in Germany for one of the biggest companies in Europe, the Catch Wrestling Association. While holding the All-Star title, he teamed with his old foe Marty Jones to win the CWA tag titles from Tony St. Clair (the man from whom he won the All-Star title) and his partner, Miles Zrno. After losing the All-Star title to Dave Taylor, Finlay began to focus more on CWA, winning many of their titles and becoming much more recognised. With this recognition came trips to both Japan and Mexico, and on one Japanese trip Finlay teamed successfully with The Pegasus Kid.

Until his current run in WWE, Finlay was best known in the United States for his run in WCW from 1995–2000, first as The Belfast Bruiser; a nickname he had previously used while in the UK, and later as "Fit" Finley. His momentum began picking up after his surprising defeat of Eddie Guerrero on WCW Thunder via count-out. Soon after, he cut his dark, greased mullet in exchange for a short, blonde crew cut and began to pursue championship gold. He found some success in 1998, winning the WCW World Television Championship and feuding with the likes of Chris Benoit and Booker T. Before long, he was a well established midcarder with his newly modified name, both in spelling and pronunciation, Fit Finlay.

Near the end of his WCW run, he won the "Hardcore Junkyard Invitational" at Bash at the Beach, winning a "hardcore trophy". However, he suffered a badly lacerated nerve in his leg during a hardcore match at a house show in July 1999, which nearly cost him use of the leg. As he was wrestling Brian Knobbs, he was thrown into a table in the corner of the ring, causing it to shatter and the shards to cut his leg. He managed to regain use of the limb and came back later in the year, but by that point, all momentum he had from the Junkyard Invitational win was lost. In 2000, Finlay formed a trio of "Hardcore Soldiers" with Brian Knobbs and Al Green. After the return of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo to power in WCW, he was virtually forgotten on TV.

After leaving WCW, Finlay wrestled in independent promotions before retiring to become a road agent and trainer for the Divas in WWE.

WWE: Daivari ,Part 3

A short time later, Daivari faced his former client in a match. During the match, Mark Henry, the number one contender for Angle's title, attacked Angle. After the match, Daivari officially announced that he was now managing Henry and continued to manage Henry during his feud with The Undertaker. However, Daivari would disappear off television in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 22 when, at WWE's Saturday Night Main Event, Daivari suffered a chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver at the hands of The Undertaker onto the lid of a casket.

On the April 7, 2006 edition of SmackDown!, Daivari would make his return bringing in the Wrestling Debut: ing Great Khali to attack The Undertaker during his match with Mark Henry. The next week, Daivari officially presented him to the crowd, hyping him as an unstoppable monster. Over the following weeks, Daivari would accompany Khali to the ring as he destroyed various Smackdown! superstars. This would all lead up to a match with The Undertaker at Judgment Day on May 21, 2006, which Khali would end up winning. Daivari and Khali appeared as guests on Piper's Pit on the June 2, 2006 edition of SmackDown!, in which Piper made fun of Khali, who supposedly can't speak English. Eventually Piper stood on the bottom rope, attempting to match height with Khali, he managed to say: If this was twenty years ago, before Khali grabbed him by the throat. Daivari made Khali put Piper down and straitened Piper's jacket disrespectfully, Piper slapped Daivari, but was then given a chop by Khali. The Undertaker was the original guest on the Pit, but he declined the invitation a few days before.

Daivari continued to accompany The Great Khali to the ring when Khali wrestled or attacked other wrestlers, but when The Great Khali became inactive due to injury, Daivari was taken off the road as well.

Daivari and The Great Khali were moved to the ECW brand officially when they made their ECW Wrestling Debut: s on the October 31, 2006 edition of ECW on Sci-Fi. Daivari beat "The Reject" Shannon Moore in a very quick match. Daivari's original theme music was used as well as his Farsi rants on the microphone. Afterwards, Moore was manhandled by The Great Khali.

Daivari would continue his ECW winning streak over the next several weeks with The Great Khali usually following up the contest with a Double-handed Choke Bomb on Daivari's opponent. At December to Dismember, Daivari got a victory over Tommy Dreamer following a schoolboy rollup. Dreamer then chased Daivari all the way to the back then, The Great Khali appeared and caught Dreamer, planting him on the steel ramp with a Chokebomb. On January 8, 2007, The Great Khali Wrestling Debut: ed on RAW, without Daivari. The following night, however, Daivari accompanied Khali to the ring for his match with Dreamer on ECW.

Daivari returned to SmackDown! on February 9, 2007, defeating Crusierweight Champion Gregory Helms in a non-title match. As of now he is only wrestling as a crusierweight.

Shawn Daivari (born Dara Daivari on March 30, 1984) is a Iranian-American professional wrestler and wrestling manager better known by his ring name Khosrow Daivari, or simply Daivari. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling on its SmackDown! brand.

His hallmarks are his creative and insulting microphone antics. Daivari, who is of Persian descent, usually speaks Farsi during promos and matches. On-screen, he is often referred to as being Arab-American and his speech as Arabic.

Although it is claimed that his on-screen given name "Khosrow" is a tribute to The Iron Sheik (whose real name is Khosrow Vaziri), it is, in fact, the name of his father.

Daivari (AKA Dom Abramo) made his WWE Wrestling Debut: on December 13, 2004, on RAW alongside Muhammad Hassan. Their gimmick was that of two Arab-Americans who were tired of the prejudice and racism they were receiving after the 9/11 attacks. In the weeks leading up to their Wrestling Debut: , the two men would appear on Raw in vignettes promoting their hatred towards America. In the following weeks, they would both up their words with actions, initiating a feud with Raw announcers Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler.

At WrestleMania 21 on April 3, 2005, Daivari and Hassan were involved in a storyline with returning WWE legend Hulk Hogan. While attacking injured wrestler Eugene, Hogan made his classic entrance and ejected both men from the ring to the delight of fans in attendance.

The following night on RAW, Daivari and Hassan interrupted Shawn Michaels during a promo. The two attacked Michaels and left him helpless in the ring. This led to Daivari's first singles match in WWE, on the April 11 edition of RAW. Although Michaels was heavily favored, Daivari, with help from Hassan, got the upset win. Enraged, Michaels demanded a match against both Daivari and Hassan. RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff refused to grant a handicap match but instead ordered Michaels to find a partner. That partner turned out to be Daivari and Hassan's Wrestlemania foe Hulk Hogan.

On the April 18, 2005 episode of RAW, Michaels was once again double teamed by Daivari and Hassan until Hogan appeared to make the save. Hogan accepted Michaels' offer to tag and the match was set for the Backlash pay per view on May 1, 2005. At Backlash, Hogan and Michaels picked up the win which led to friction between the two since Hassan blamed Daivari for the loss. The next night on RAW, Hassan verbally and physically attacked Daivari leaving their future as a team in question. This would be completely fruitless, however.

Smackdown!: Batista, Part 7

Batista guest starred in the eighth episode of Season 6 of the American drama action/adventure, CW Network television series Smallville, playing a villain named Aldar from the Phantom Zone who could suck the bones out of people.
At one point before getting into pro wrestling, Batista trained with Brock Lesnar in a gym in Minnesota. They both joined WWE´s developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling(OVW) at the same time and competed against eachother before entering the main roster.
Bautista credits Finlay for helping him the most during his rookie days in OVW in an edition of WWE's webcast Byte This in 2003.
Batista has been on the cover of Flex Magazine.
Since WrestleMania 21, Batista has used the infamous "thumbs up, thumbs down" gesture before he performs the Batista Bomb on his opponent. This is a reference to the gesture Triple H used against Randy Orton when he kicked Orton out of Evolution (leading to a brutal assault). Batista took this gesture from Triple H when he feigned signing to SmackDown!
Since WrestleMania 21, Batista often shakes the ring ropes violently before making his famous "thumbs up, thumbs down" gesture, which he has acknowledged he took from the Ultimate Warrior.
Batista currently holds the record for the longest reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion at 284 days.

Smackdown!: Batista, Part 6

Bautista is of Filipino and Greek heritage. His year of birth was disputed for several years. His website originally listed him as being born in 1969, while several contradictory news reports, as well as the IMDB, had claimed that he was actually born in 1966. In addition, Obsessed with Wrestling claimed for a time that, when Bautista re-signed with WWE in January 2005, he revealed that he had been working under a fake age (a common practice in the entertainment field) and admitted that he was actually thirty-nine years old (and would therefore have been born in 1966). However, this claim was later removed. In March 2006, Batista stated in an interview that he was born in 1969. According to Batista's official website he was born in 1969.

Bautista married second wife Angie, a Japanese/American survivor of ovarian cancer, in October 1998. In the August 2006 edition of WWE magazine Batista revealed that he and his wife are currently separated. Bautista has two daughters from his first marriage.

Bautista has numerous tattoos, including a large Chinese dragon on his back, red Kanji lettering on his upper left biceps which says "Angel" in tribute to his wife Angie, a signature design on his upper right biceps, and a small Sun on his stomach which encircles his belly button. He recently added a tattoo on his arm of the flags of the Philippines and Greece merged into one.

In an edition of SmackDown! magazine (Now WWE Magazine), he stated that he collected lunchboxes. This collection started when he bought his wife an ET lunchbox and she did not want to break it, so he bought a second one.

Batista can breakdance. This was shown in a commercial promoting WWE SummerSlam 2004 where he did his take on a "floor routine" (basically mocking the floor routines shown at the Olympic Games).

In 2005, Batista gave two controversial interviews to the British tabloid newspaper The Sun. In the first interview, Batista, then wrestling on the RAW brand of WWE, criticized SmackDown!, stating, "I've watched their tapings live and it seems like a lot of the guys couldn't care less. There's a lack of passion and pride."In the second interview, Batista acknowledged that his statements had attracted considerable backstage heat from members of the SmackDown! brand. He then went on to claim, "there are guys on both shows who are lazy, couldn't care less and show no dedication." He then criticized rival wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, claiming, "I've also seen clips of their car wreck matches with A.J. Styles doing his stunts. That's not wrestling. Wrestling is storytelling." In April 2006, Styles responded to Batista's comments, quipping, "I think it's funny that a guy who takes a bump and tears his back tells me that I don't know how to wrestle."

At a 2006 SummerSlam pay-per-view commercial shoot, it was reported that Batista got into a real-life fistfight with Booker T (Booker T had a noticeable black eye at the next SmackDown taping). The incident was reported on WWE.com, with both men telling their sides of the story.

Smackdown!: Batista, Part 5

At Saturday Night's Main Event, Batista won his first televised match since his return, a six man tag match with Rey Mysterio and Lashley taking on King Booker, Finlay and Mark Henry. In a bizarre twist of fate, during the match Mark Henry was legitimately injured, and was ruled out of the scheduled match between the two at The Great American Bash (thus further delaying a potential feud between the two, which was already delayed by Batista's injury).

Batista would put out an open challenge to replace the injured Henry which was answered by Mr. Kennedy. Batista would lose this match via DQ for failing to stop choking Mr. Kennedy into the turnbuckle with his boot, but continued to attack Kennedy which resulted in Mr. Kennedy suffering a laceration on his forehead so severe that it exposed his cranium and required 20 stitches to close. Batista would go on to lose another match with Kennedy via count out in a rematch on SmackDown! before finally defeating Kennedy by pinfall on the August 4, 2006 edition of SmackDown!.

During this time Batista would try to regain a world title, facing both Big Show for his ECW World Heavyweight Championship during an ECW show, and King Booker for his World Heavyweight Championship during SummerSlam and SmackDown!. Batista won these matches but not the title as the contests ended via disqualification. Batista continued on as a top contender to the World Title; competing against King Booker on several occasions while feuding with Finlay, before finally defeating King Booker to regain the World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series 2006 at Philadelphia's Wachovia Center, the same arena where he surrendered the title in January.

At the beginning of the new year, it was announced that Batista would defend the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble 2007 against an opponent to be decided through a Beat the Clock series called the SmackDown Beat The Clock Sprint. At the Rumble, Batista successfully retained the title against the Sprint winner, Mr. Kennedy.

WWE Smackdown : The Boogeyman, Part 3

As SummerSlam approached, The Boogeyman began appearing in TV spots to promote the event. Vignettes also began airing advertising his return to SmackDown!, however, on September 20 WWE.com reported that Wright had been released from the company. It was later reported that he had been doing "the bare minimum" in regards to getting back into shape and had missed several required doctor checkups. Although management warned him about this, he failed to change his behavior and they let him go. Less than a month later, on October 6, WWE.com announced that Wright had been re-hired and would be sent to be trained at Booker T and Stevie Ray's wrestling school in Houston, Texas.

Booker T was reportedly very impressed with Marty's renewed dedication and enthusiasm at his Wrestling Academy, and according to the Wrestling Observer, Wright was rehired mainly due to Booker's insistence. Wright returned on the October 27, 2006 SmackDown!, starting a feud with Mike "The Miz" Mizanin and Kristal Marshall. During the feud he again terrorized and stalked his opponents, spitting worms at them and scaring them at every opportunity, and eventually ended The Miz's undefeated streak at the Armageddon pay-per-view.

The Boogeyman then feuded with Finlay. On the February 2nd edition of SmackDown! during a title match against current United States Champion Chris Benoit, Boogeyman abducted Little Bastard distracting Finlay and giving Benoit a chance to win the match with a roll-up.

On the Febuary 16 edition of SmackDown, the Boogeyman showed a midget of his own, the Little Boogeyman. The Boogeyman and the Little Boogeyman lost to Finlay and the Little Bastard in a mixed tag team match at No Way Out 2007. The team lost a rematch the following week on Smackdown!, after Wright was pinned by Finlay's Little Bastard

WWE Smackdown : The Boogeyman, Part 2

On the July 11, 2005 episode of RAW, horror movie style vignettes began airing to promote the debut of Wright in his "Boogeyman" persona. After a few weeks The Boogeyman the vignettes were moved from Raw to SmackDown!, but his planned debut was delayed when he hyperextended both knees and needed time to recover.

The Boogeyman made his first appearance on the October 13, 2005 SmackDown!. He was brought in by UPN Network Executive Palmer Cannon, who claimed he was going to be a part of another (unspecified) UPN show that never came to be due to an on-set "accident" involving The Boogeyman (it was implied he'd "done something" to another member of the cast, but never elaborated on). Cannon said he brought him to the SmackDown! brand as part of a "new talent initiative." The Boogeyman then proceeded to recite a version of the nursery rhyme Buckle My Shoe before smashing an oversize alarm clock on his own head. Boogeyman continued to "terrorize" other Superstars, in the fasion for the next couple of months.

For the next few weeks The Boogeyman appeared in unexpected places backstage (closets, vans, et cetera), reciting different nursery rhymes and holding up clocks before screaming his catchphrase "I'm The Boogeyman and I'm comin' to get cha!" and laughing maniacally. This would leave the performer(s) that had discovered him both confused and creeped out, usually ending with them backing out of the room slowly while the commentators remarked on how strange the whole situation was.

At the 2005 Survivor Series, The Boogeyman helped SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long defeat his RAW counterpart, Eric Bischoff, with a Pumphandle slam. He made his official in-ring SmackDown! debut on the December 2 SmackDown!, defeating Simon Dean with the Boogeyslam in a squash that saw him repeatedly scream, "I'm the Boogeyman!" at a confused and terrified Dean. It was during this match that another regular part of his persona came to light when he took a handful of live worms from his pocket and stuff them into his mouth as commentators Michael Cole and Tazz screamed in disgust.

For the next few weeks The Boogeyman went on a tear, winning numerous squash matches. Invariably these matches were short on actual wrestling content, instead focusing on the antics of The Boogeyman. Opponents were generally "flattened" in the ring, left with worms in their mouths and/or spit on their faces. His official pay-per-view debut was at December's Armageddon when he came to the ring to confront Vito and Nunzio who were dressed as Santa Claus and an elf. Though Nunzio was able to escape, Vito suffered a Goodnight and ended up with worms shoved into his mouth.

Boogeyman's first major feud occurred with JBL and his "fixer" Jillian Hall, beginning with his stalking the duo throughout a number of shows. During an episode of SmackDown! he caught a fleeing Hall and shoved worms down the back of her skirt. In another, during a Piper's Pit segment, he not only sniffed the "mole" on Jillian's face, but licked it and bit it off. Layfield and The Boogeyman eventually met in a one on one contest at the 2006 Royal Rumble, with Boogeyman picking up the win in about two minutes.

A subsequent feud with Booker T, which saw him again stalking a wrestler and his female companion (this time Booker's wife Sharmell) culminated at WrestleMania 22, when Boogeyman pinned Booker T after kissing Sharmell while holding a mouthful of worms. The match was exceptionally short because shortly before WrestleMania Boogeyman tore his left biceps at a house show. To explain his absence to rehab his injury, Booker T and Sharmell obtained a restraining order against the Boogeyman, who actually had surgery on April 4, to repair his biceps tear.

Martin (Marty) Wright (born October 31, 1964) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his professional ring name The Boogeyman. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling on its SmackDown! brand.

Born in Mystic, Connecticut, Wright began his career originally intending to be a professional bodybuilder. He won some competitions, but the only recorded such victory noted online is the 2002 National Physique Committee States Contest from August 2-3, 2002 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the men's over 35 years, super heavyweight division.

Before becoming a professional wrestler, Wright sought a career as an actor. He started with work as an extra and performing stuntman duties. He appeared in the movies Any Given Sunday (1999) as player #84 of the Miami Sharks known as "Beastman", in The Replacements (2000) as player #56, a linebacker of the Dallas team known as Butler, and in Transporter 2 (2005) as the SWAT commander.

Wright applied to take part in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Tough Enough IV and on October 15, 2004, attended a fifty man, two day event in Venice Beach, California, where eight finalists were chosen. Wright survived the first day of eliminations, but on the second day he admitted that he was 40 years old (5 years past the contest's cutoff of 35) and not 30 as he had claimed. As a result he was cut from the Tough Enough prospectives.

Though he'd been cut from Tough Enough, WWE officials invited him to come to their developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) for possible training. When he arrived he promptly impressed his trainers with his in ring charisma and love of wrestling. He trained between January and June of 2005, making his OVW debut on June 25, 2005.

During a dark match pitting the team of Seth Skyfire and Robert Fury against Vik Delicious and Robbie Dawber, Wright entered the ring and squashed Fury, Delicious and Dawber, no-selling the offense of Skyfire in the process. He then announced that he was The Boogeyman before leaving the building.

It was announced on July 2 that Wright had a record of "psychological problems" and "bodily assault," and had been both rejected from Tough Enough and denied training at OVW (the first claim being true, the second kayfabe). The fact that Wright had lied in order to take part in Tough Enough was developed into a gimmick, with Wright being described as an unpredictable "sociopathical liar" - including (kayfabe) claims that he had recently served time in prison. Wright's ring entrance included special effects such as lightning and torrential rain.

In one controversial incident OVW lead booker Jim Cornette was released from WWE after repeatedly slapping Johnny Geo Basco, an OVW wrestling student who was inserted into the audience as a plant to further The Boogeyman gimmick, but laughed instead of showing fear when the time came. Cornette said that Basco had ruined the storyline and had broken kayfabe.

The Boogeyman gimmick further evolved into a "monster" face who would appear when another wrestler said his name and attack him, while not selling any offense he received.

Smackdown!: Batista, Part 4

Batista would lead Team SmackDown! against Team RAW in an inter-brand feud before 2005's Survivor Series. The feud would see the Big Show and Kane chokeslamming Batista several more times in the weeks leading up to Survivor Series in an on-camera explanation for Batista's injury. Batista would help his team win the Survivor Series main event.

On the December 2, 2005 edition of Friday Night SmackDown!, Batista saved Rey Mysterio from a double team attack by RAW 's reigning World Tag Team Champions The Big Show and Kane. It was later announced that Mysterio would team with Batista to face Big Show and Kane at Armageddon 2005, a SmackDown! exclusive pay-per-view.

On the December 16, 2005 edition of SmackDown!, Batista and Mysterio received a title shot at the WWE Tag Team Champions MNM. The two defeated MNM to become champions in a match which they dedicated to Eddie Guerrero. With Batista and Mysterio becoming the WWE Tag Team Champions, the clash with the Big Show and Kane at Armageddon turned into a Champions vs. Champions encounter. At Armageddon on December 18, 2005, Batista and Mysterio lost to Kane and Big Show when Kane pinned Mysterio after a chokeslam.

On the December 30, 2005 edition of SmackDown!, MNM defeated Batista and Mysterio after help from the returning Mark Henry to regain the WWE Tag Team Championships. During the interference, Henry attacked Batista, and performed his World's Strongest Slam.

On January 9, 2006, WWE.com announced that Batista had torn his right tricep following a match with Mark Henry at a live event on January 8, 2006 in Verona, New York. The following day, WWE.com announced that, due to his injury, Batista was forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship at the SmackDown! tapings in Philadelphia on January 10, 2006, two days after surpassing Triple H's previous mark of 280 days for longest reigning champion. Later that night, Kurt Angle won a battle royal to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. (These events were aired on the January 13, 2006 edition of SmackDown!.) Dave went on to have successful surgery on his arm on January 12, 2006.

On February 19, 2006, Batista made an appearance at No Way Out 2006 and told the crowd that once his arm had healed he would return to regain his World Heavyweight Championship. At WrestleMania 22, Batista once again made a brief appearance. This time he interrupted a Randy Orton interview, putting SmackDown! on notice; the World Heavyweight Championship would return to him by WrestleMania 23. Batista made his official return during the July 7, 2006 edition of SmackDown! in Philadelphia immediately calling out and entering into a feud with the man who put him out with the arm injury, Mark Henry.

Smackdown!: Batista, Part 3

In an attempt to persuade Batista to challenge WWE Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield rather than Triple H, Triple H concocted a scheme that saw him attempt to have Batista run over in a limousine resembling the one used by Layfield. Initially, Dave didn't want help from Evolution and wanted to confront JBL by himself. Triple H insisted that Evolution stick together and accompanied Dave anyway. In fact, it was Triple H that saved Dave from the oncoming vehicle. Batista became aware of the plot while sneakily eavesdropping on fellow Evolution members, and on the February 21 episode of RAW he signed a contract guaranteeing him a match with World Champion Triple H at WrestleMania 21, thus leaving Evolution and officially turning face for the first time in WWE. He emphasized his departure by powerbombing Triple H through the table used for the contract signing. Batista initially pretended that he would sign with SmackDown!, giving Triple H and Flair the "thumbs up," but turned it into a "thumbs down" before attacking the pair, much to the delight of the crowd, who became unglued upon the thumbs-down.

Batista went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship on April 3, 2005 at WrestleMania 21. The show ended with confetti falling through the air as Batista celebrated his title win with the fans chanting his name.

At Backlash, on May 1, 2005, Batista once again faced Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship. Batista retained the title but continued to feud with Triple H. Along the way, he even helped commentator Jim "J.R." Ross gain an upset victory over Triple H on RAW.

On May 23, 2005, Batista successfully defeated Edge to retain his title. After the match, Batista was betrayed by Ric Flair, who helped Triple H viciously attack the champion. During the brutal attack, Triple H challenged Batista to Hell in a Cell, setting up a match at Vengeance 2005. Batista survived the pedigree and won the match, retaining his title yet again. With this win, Batista became the first wrestler to pin Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match. This also made him the first wrestler to defeat Triple H at three consecutive pay-per-views.

On June 30, 2005 Batista was revealed as the last pick in the 2005 WWE Draft Lottery, making a surprise appearance while John "Bradshaw" Layfield was celebrating his victory in a six-man elimination match to win the new SmackDown! Championship. With this, Batista became the first World Heavyweight Champion after its post-WCW/Alliance re-incarnation on SmackDown!. With Batista as the new face of SmackDown!, there was no need for the new belt and a feud between Batista and JBL was set up. They faced off at the Great American Bash on July 24, 2005 where JBL defeated Batista by DQ after the referee saw Batista use a steel chair. They had a rematch at SummerSlam on August 21, 2005 in a No-Holds-Barred match which saw Batista pin JBL following a powerbomb on the steel steps. The feud culminated in a match between the two on the first episode of SmackDown! broadcast after the show moved to Friday nights, with Batista retaining the title in JBL's signature bull rope match.

Soon after retaining the title in a feud with Eddie Guerrero, WWE.com reported that Batista suffered a muscle tear in his back at the taping for the November 11, 2005 edition of SmackDown! due to a double chokeslam from The Big Show and Kane. Plans had been made for Batista to defend the title in a triple threat match with Eddie Guerrero and Randy Orton on the November 18, 2005 episode, but the match didn't take place due to the unexpected death of Eddie Guerrero on November 13, 2005. Batista paid homage to Eddie Guerrero during the SmackDown! and RAW tribute shows dedicated to Guerrero's memory. Batista was good friends with Eddie Guerrero
